Anemological Studies

Anemology is a branch of meteorology that studies wind (speed, direction and intensity). Doing a wind resource assessment is very important when developing a wind farm; because it determines the site’s potential and the feasibility of the project.

Environmental Impact

The environment is our most precious asset and therefore it is necessary to take care of it. That is why the national regulatory system (by adopting the European Guidelines) allows projects to be implemented that could have an impact on the environment only if evaluated positively from an environmental standpoint. Depending on the project’s characteristics, different studies may be needed: Strategic Environmental Assessment, Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Incidence Assessment, and Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment.

Noise Impact

Acoustic analysis una is the study of sound in all forms and how it can affect daily life. Therefore a noise impact study plays a very important role in future wind farm sites (as well as in other sectors that generate noise) by predicting possible noise levels created by the wind farm.

Fire Prevention

In order to obtain aFire Prevention CertificateCPI in Italy (CPI-Certificato Prevenzioni Incendi), business owners subject to verification by the National Fire Service (VVFF in Italy) must submit a specific application and required technical documentation prepared by qualified technicians (L.818 / 84, member of national register of qualified technicians).

The new regulation (Presidential Decree DPR 151/2011) introduced serious criminal penalties.Whoever does not submit a request or a report to obtain such certification, while having the obligation (all businesses listed in the decree table are required to obtain this certificate) is subject to criminal penalties according to decree D.Lgs 139 / 2006.

Construction Site Safety

Construction sites are very hazardous workplaces and require good practices and particular attention from every person present – from worker to employer, from client to those in charge of the project, and from those responsible for workplace safety (such as the RSPP) to the safety coordinators. The RSPP is a professional entity in Italy which checks that sites are fully compliant with the law, health and safety, and quality. SOAVE Engineering’s specialists check:

  • Health and Safety Coordination Plans – PSC
  • Operational Safety Plans – POS
  • Construction Supervision.

Cadastral Procedures

SOAVE Engineering deals with all the steps involved in completing cadastral procedures.

The list of cadastral services provided by our team is as follows:

  • Insertion in map
  • Cadastral variations
  • Registration of new buildings
  • Splits and Mergers of Properties
  • Transfer of Registration
  • Correction of inconsistencies
  • Online delivery of cadastral documents
  • Online mortgage check

Energy Performance Certification

Energy Performance Certification is a procedure which rates buildings on their energy efficiency and makes consumers aware of energy waste to encourage them to make more conscious choices. Energy certification is also useful for prospective buyers to know the cost of energy consumption of the property they are about to buy.

In order to issue an energy certificate for a small house or office, it is necessary to do an energy performance assessment of the building’s characteristics and systems, as well as the cost-benefit analysis of adding isolators, energy efficient doors and windows, new heating systems, or a home automation system. An energy efficiency certificate is a mandatory document to be attached to the notarial act when a property ownership is transferred (as in the case of  buying/selling); And from July 1, 2010  it is compulsory even if you rent the apartment or the premises.

Feasibility Study

A Feasibility Study assesses the practicality of a proposed project by identifying, specifying and comparing multiple alternatives in order to come up with various solutions for its completion.

This study produces a set of information that will help in making a well-founded and motivated decision for allocating available resources. It is also possible to identify existing obstacles and therefore speed up the process.
From a methodological point of view, a feasibility study is based on documentation analysis, which includes studying records and documents to create a picture of how

each function will develop.  At the conclusion of the analysis, it will be possible to:

  • Have a clear picture of the project;
  • Have a comprehensive picture of technical elements, together with opportunity and feasibility factors, that support potential choices.

SOAVE Engineering provides expertise in the field of renewable energy to perform feasibility studies.

Due Diligence

Through targeted and analytical information gathering due diligence makes it possible to verify whether the conditions of the proposed project are feasible or whether there are elements that could compromise its success, while at the same time building a solid foundation for an eventual contract negotiation.

Today, every Italian investor or foreign company does this type of study before making a purchase or sale, making them aware of the sustainability and value of the transaction they are about to make.

Final Inspections

At SOAVE Engineering we combine our experience and expertise to perform final inspections of renewable energy plants..

This service involves a series of procedures which verify that the construction work is done correctly before it is used. Typically during the test we measure the response of the project design to conditions which are identical or which simulate actual conditions the project will be subjected to during its operation.

Energy Audit

An Energy Audit is an essential preliminary procedure for defining the criteria and appropriate interventions to achieve energy efficiency and make it compliant with public lighting systems.

An Energy Audit is performed in two steps:

  • Survey of exisiting situation;
  • Analysis and Project.

The survey is carried out using modern technology for data collection and georeferencing.The collected data will then be analyzed in order to formulate a detailed work plan aimed first at making existing plants compliant, then at making them more modern and efficient, highlighting the interventions which achieve the greatest

energy savings. These interventions include: substituting low efficiency and high pollution lights with high performance equipment, installing reliable remote controlled systems, a rational redistribution of power and plant layout, and designing and building self sufficient energy production systems such as photovoltaics, etc.

The same analysis can be carried out not only for public lighting but also for other energy efficiency interventions, and may include interventions such as:

  • Adopting cogeneration and trigeneration systems;
  • Thermal insulation of buildings (of both the external part of the building as well as door and window frames);
  • Installation of high efficiency lighting;
  • Adopting high performance electric motors.
